I'll get to when I get to it in the timeline, probably, but...that probably sounds about right for me. ***1/2 (Spotfest) leaning up because of the death spots.

Another interesting question...

Rey Mysterio is a 7 time WWE/WCW Tag Champion with 7 different partners. Without looking it up, can you name them?

i figured kofi was a worthwhile guess. it seems hes held a version of the tag titles with everyone whos ever been in the company.

i dont really know who else he couldve been with. konnan? i know he was in the filthy animals with him and kidman, maybe they did a freebird thing? angle? chavo? kane held the belt with like 100 midgets, him?

Konnan was one.

I'll spoiler the other two, but I'm not going to keep the suspense going overnight.
Juventud Guerrera (2000 WCW) & Rob Van Dam (2004 WWE).

meh. i dont remember van dam at all. was juvi in the filthy animals too? that would make sense that he held the belt with all 3 of them then. 5 out of 7 isnt bad for somebody whos killed all the brain cells i have. but the front 4 i named came to me immediately.

I...have no idea. I remembered Konnan because of a Sporcle quiz, and RVD...pretty vaguely. But I have absolutely no memory of Juvi and Rey as a team.

I feel like I need to review that match after seeing the GIF. I'm quite afraid that seeing a bad Regal match after 1998 will cause a paradox in the universe, though.

wrestlemania 2

long time since ive seen this. i really only remember hogan/bundy and piper/mr t in that boxing shite. so... god only knows.

vince kicking us off in new york. hes with susan st james. i dont know what shes famous for honestly. ray charles singing america the beautiful. ill wager its better than gene's rendition last year. "EVERYBODY!"

somebody fix the mic for the blind guy you shitheads.

im pretty sure ray made up his own lyrics for half that song. but he did a bang up job. nicely done raymond. pretty sure i can shut this show off now, its not getting any better from here.

now we got gene mean in chicago. roddy backstage. he says hes quitting everything if mr t ko's him.

kicking off with orndorff vs muraco.

susan st james finally opened her mouth after about 5 minutes and went "ALRIGHT!" and i nearly choked on some chicken because i wasnt expecting it. wonderful.

"looks like hes using some ancient chinese techniques" id rather listen to michael cole and the king. well...

double countout as a nice little "BULLSHIT!" chant rains down. very nice. we're already starting the 5 minute non-endings.

mr t is with joe frazier and a midget. this is glorious.

ic title up next. george steele vs macho. "FREAK OUT FREAK OUT" every new kid they sign to the performance center should have to watch macho man promos til they can cut one, before they allow a microphone into any of their hands.

george steele is biting machos boot. and macho being the goddamn class bass that he is, is selling it.

im sure somebody somewhere enjoyed this. but its not me. between vince talking about george's hair, and susan st james just making random statements, and george steele doing... george steele things, macho could only do so much.

and george no sold the elbow drop! and macho steals it with the feet on the ropes anyway. again. horrendous.

gene interviewing some random guy and big john studd. it turns out its bill fralic. thats so great and wonderful. get on with this terrible show.

"let me ask you something susan, do you like snakes?" it wouldve made for a better segment if vince whipped his dick out right after that question. instead of letting this dummy ramble on. wheres gorilla and jesse dammit.

george wells about to get jobbed out to jake the snake roberts.

man jake is such a pro.

and jake wins with the ddt. that was actually pretty clean for a 6 minute match.

roddy/mr t build up video. and im breaking here. ive seen enough for one night.

2 stars: jake/wells
1 star: orndorff/muraco
dud: macho/steele

I'll save my full comments for later, but I do agree with something here...

Everyone in the PC should have to watch Savage promos (especially from this era.) And Flair promos. And Piper promos. That crazy energy might be something that people can harness and completely change them into a good talker. (I mean, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan and Samoa Joe turned into fantastic promos, so I'm of the belief that anyone with more charisma than Dean Malenko can.)

joe got so good that he did one week of commentary and he's already probably the best they have in the company.

Everyone is good on WWE commentary until they're not anymore, really. (See: Striker, Matt)

It's just a matter of time before WWE stamps down on people being interesting and just hits you over the head with it.

I mean, Michael Cole wasn't good until 5 years into his run, and then that died relatively quickly, too. But yeah...

Sports announcer Cole in the 2002-2003 Smackdown era was really good, especially in the Brock stuff. I haven't seen as much heel Cole as a I will, but...yeah...

He had a good rapport with Tazz though, and it bled over into their commentary nicely.
