i assume its fine given id get additions from another team.
yeah, all the open teams should turn out much better overall talent wise. It may not be a 1:1 fit, but you'd wind up with more talent and capital to trade.

Deez the draft before last and me this years... of course he left me with like 4 first rounders.
So... are you implying you wouldn't mind giving me 1 or 2 of them?

And your pitchers.

I'd basically owe you a SP or 2 and some MRs as none of your batters matter much. I think that can be easily done.
I have to say I'm skeptical the additions will be enough, considering you're also trying to balance it so the best open team gets merged with the worst one, instead of the two best ones. Given that Houston is probably the strongest open team after Washington, the team that merges with Houston might very well be Toronto with their shitty SPs?

All things considered, I'll be fine with this, Houston can survive the cuts and still finish 2nd. And this is best for the league and shit, so go ahead.

Well best and worst isn't just record based - and I'd make sure everyone was at least content with what came out of it.

Worth noting, even if it winds up being Toronto, and there's been nothing looked at yet, Teddy's already at 10-7-10 with 10-10-10 talent. The pen is trickier, but you could take George and trade him for top end RPs.

Washington will be on the pairing side, so it's possible you wind up merged with them or Miami as well if Texas and Houston are the only contending teams, while Arizona, Colorado, the Mets, and the Phillies are rebuilding and fit better with Atlanta, Seattle, Toronto, and Tampa.

A fool's errand, but I'm going to try to make everyone happy. Being the Mets and Phillies were/are being treated as unowned teams (dgfred had them a season, OM hasn't had the Mets at all) I'll be less considerate of them compared to you.

also, I feel worth bringing up, one of the 2 team GMs almost switched to Toronto they liked it so much, while you hate the roster, so I'm sure that team would love that merger. And that's the type of stuff I'll try to take into account.

No, you're right. I was too harsh on Toronto. Teddy is probably the best candidate to make up for the loss of Cashwell and even fill in Dirk's void. But now that I said it, it won't happen.

It's like the time I scoffed at the idea of getting Xander Bogaerts for Matt Kemp, and we ended up instead with Grandal and all his passed balls and being benched for Austin Barnes in the playoffs.

Toronto has a few good SP prospects.

I recall drafting a 10-9-10 talent, plus Teddy, and s few solid Relievers. The bats suck

I think I finally eliminated all the fake players from those teams. I'll work on the finances, probably tomorrow. My arm hurts now.

tomorrow or Monday. As of now, everyone has a top 2 choice - though that got easier once the Jays and Rays got taken off the table. Probably for the best.

if you make releases, they likely won't go through right now for whatever reason (likely the changes of everything), so if you insist on doing them now, after exporting, either screenshot or copy the team news page and I'll do em manually.

Would it be too much to ask the GMs of the newly merged teams to post their intent to rebuild or contend? or maybe even a trade block?

This will help others find potential trade partners and streamline trade conversation.

in the interim, I'm pretty sure only you and Mofo are contending. dgfred just doesn't trade. That leaves Trendy, JS, and benoit.

Atlanta's timeline is the Seinfield timeline. He is nearing ready, and I dont want to waste too many of his years. If a deal makes sense in the capacity, I am in. Besides that, rebuild...
