LSU are the reigning National Champions, showing SEC dominance.

Now Ohio State has become Baylor North.

It’s probably the most open Big 12 in the last 5 years, a year off in between clear OU dynasties. If OSU or Texas cannot get over the hump this year, honestly it’s gonna be time for a long hard look in the mirror.

Nationally, I honestly don’t see how Ohio State, Clemson, Bama aren’t penciled in already, it’s just such a clear divide.

I’m getting to the point where I think mass conference realignment may return to the picture.

The college football playoff and schedule/maybe even conferences themselves need to be fixed for there to be more parity.
I think expanding the playoffs to 6 or 8 teams with autobids to P5 champs would work. Hopefully that incentivizes blue bloods from different conferences to schedule games against each other during the regular season. If you lose, no harm no foul. If you win, you would get a big edge in playoff seeding. It was great watching OU and tOSU play a home and home a few years ago, I'd love to see more of that.

Realistically conference with 3 teams already play the max amount of good non con games with 1. It’s too beneficial to have 1 tune up, and then each team can play one good sized G5 team that they can get an unusual amount of cash from based on locality (ex, Oklahoma State playing Tulsa almost every year or Michigan playing a directional Michigan). Then you get the one big game.

Even as someone who believes the 4 team playoff is kinda against their team, i still think the fact that it keeps every game mattering is too much fun to replace (that is unless they went to my weird desired system)
